Formula One is set to return to Africa after signing a 10-year agreement with Rwanda, with an African Grand Prix planned for the early 2030s.
The race will be held on a circuit in Bugesera, near Rwanda’s capital, Kigali. The deal will bring the championship back to the continent for the first time since 1993.
The agreement marks a long-term commitment to staging Formula One in Rwanda, although an exact date for the inaugural race has not been announced.
