Gypsy Rose Blanchard had spoken about her hopes for a large wedding with Ken Urker months before his death in Louisiana.
In a May appearance on the TMZ podcast, the 35-year-old said she did not want a small or rushed ceremony, describing her vision for a traditional celebration.
“I don’t want to have a quickie wedding. I want to have the big wedding,” she said. “I want to have the poofy dress.”
Blanchard said she wanted her family to attend, contrasting the plans with her first marriage to Ryan Scott Anderson, which took place “in the visitation room by the bathroom of a prison”.
“I deserve my wedding,” she added.
Urker died at his home in Louisiana on his birthday on Thursday October 1, nearly five months after Blanchard discussed their future wedding. Her brother Dylan found him after entering the property through an open window, according to a police report, which said the body was “cold to the touch”.
Following his death, Blanchard described Urker as her “greatest love story”. She also said he had faced “relentless cyberbullying” and an “unimaginable level of public scrutiny”, adding that the “cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure” and had a “profound impact” on him.
