A man has been shot dead at a home in Merrylands West, in western Sydney, with homicide detectives assisting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Emergency services were called to Bruce Street at about 3.15pm on Wednesday, 2 September, following reports of a shooting. Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command found a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the victim at the scene, but he died there. Police said he had not yet been formally identified.
A crime scene has been established while investigators work to establish what happened. The State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad is assisting local detectives with the inquiry.
