Heavy fighting between Yemeni government forces and Houthi rebels has continued in the south-west of Yemen, with the militia attempting to advance in Lahj province on the Gulf of Aden.
Government military sources said about 50 Houthi fighters and 20 government soldiers had been killed in the clashes. Dozens of Houthi members were also reportedly wounded.
Government forces said they had carried out more than 350 operations against the Iran-aligned Houthis within a 24-hour period.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree alleged that Saudi fighter jets had struck more than 30 targets in Yemen over the same period, including sites in Taiz, Saada and Hudaydah provinces. Saudi Arabia has not commented on the allegation.
The Saudi civil defence agency issued a warning for the southern province of Najran following suspected Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Fighting has also continued in Taiz and other parts of Yemen, including highland areas overlooking the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea coast.
More than 180,000 people have been displaced across Yemen since the latest escalation began, according to the World Health Organisation.
