Jax Guelli followed up with Scott “Stew” Stewart after leaving Love Is Blind season 11 shortly after their first face-to-face meeting, he has revealed.
Guelli ended their relationship after the pair met in person, but did not explain her decision directly to Stewart. Instead, crew members told him what had happened during his confessional.
Speaking to E! News, Stewart said Guelli found him on Instagram after he returned to his hotel and sent him a message.
“You leave the program, you go back to the hotel,” he said. “By the time I had checked into the hotel, I had a message from her. She had found me through Instagram.”
Stewart described the message as “super sincere”, saying Guelli explained “what she had been going through” and the circumstances behind her decision.
“She explained that it wasn’t about me. It was about just the emotional overload of the previous couple weeks,” he said.
He added that, once they were back in Boston and normal life had resumed, they were able to “catch our breaths”.
Guelli had admitted on the show that she was nervous about meeting her new fiancé in person and questioned whether it was possible to “break up” with someone at that stage of the programme.
After their first meeting, Stewart said people sometimes compared him to a Kennedy. In a confessional, Guelli replied: “Please, more like Mitt Romney.”
