Former Fox News producer Jennifer Eckhart has died by suicide at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, aged 36, six years after accusing former network anchor Ed Henry of rape.
Eckhart was found at the property on Saturday, and officers were seen outside the residence that morning. Law enforcement sources said police were investigating the death as a suicide.
No further information was immediately available.
Eckhart sued Henry in 2020, alleging that he had restrained and raped her in a Manhattan hotel in 2017. An outside investigation commissioned by Fox News after the allegations emerged led to Henry’s dismissal.
Henry denied the allegations, maintaining that his relationship with Eckhart had been consensual. The lawsuit was settled last year.
Henry now works as the head anchor for Newsmax.
Eckhart launched a podcast in 2021, describing the move at the time as her “second act”.
