Kelly Osbourne has said she was “so sick” after the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, but is now “getting a lot better” as she continues to cope with her grief.
The television personality made the comments in an interview with Hello! magazine, describing the past year as the hardest of her life following the death of the Black Sabbath frontman in July 2025.
Asked how she had dealt with the criticism surrounding her weight loss, Osbourne said: “I didn’t navigate it – I wasn’t well. How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?”
She added: “I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life.”
Osbourne said grief had also affected her relationships, explaining that people often did not know how to respond and that “you do lose a lot of friends”. She said those who remained were “the real ones”.
Her comments follow renewed scrutiny of her appearance after she and her mother, Sharon Osbourne, attended the 2026 Brit Awards in February to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award on Ozzy’s behalf.
Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 at the age of 76. In the months since his death, Kelly has repeatedly rejected online speculation about her weight and health, while Sharon has defended her daughter and said she had been struggling to eat because of the loss.
Kelly previously addressed the criticism in a social media video, saying that her life had been “completely flipped upside down” and questioning why people expected her to recover quickly while mourning her father.
In her latest interview, she said she was focusing on rebuilding her life gradually and recognised that recovery would take time.
“You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body,” she said. “It’s a slow process. It’s going to take me a minute. I’m not going to be fixed in a day.”
