Kyle Sandilands has launched a series of personal attacks on television figures Dr Chris Brown and David Campbell during a live radio broadcast, reviving an unsubstantiated rumour about the celebrity vet before branding the Nine presenter “a piece of s***”.
The remarks were made during a segment in which Sandilands and his team ranked Australian radio personalities from the “greatest” to the “failures”. Both Brown and Campbell were placed in the latter category.
Sandilands first turned his attention to Brown, who previously worked on Nova alongside Jack Charles and Nikki Osborne. “The guy is going to be a failure,” he said.
He then referred to a rumour dating back to 2019, when a female caller to the now-cancelled The Kyle & Jackie O Show alleged that a former housemate had described Brown’s penis as unusually small following an encounter with him.
Sandilands discussed the claim on air, saying: “He doesn’t look like a man that would have a small penis. I’ve got to say.”
“He’s tall. He’s lanky. He’s got long limbs. It would be a travesty if he was given that,” he added.
Brown previously addressed the allegation by saying it was not something that concerned him and that he felt comfortable with his body. He also joked that “it’s all how you use it”.
The Kyle Sandilands radio rant later shifted towards Campbell, the Today Extra host and a presenter on smoothfm’s weekend afternoon music programme.
Sandilands claimed he had supported Campbell’s albums while working in commercial radio, but accused him of turning against him after the pair’s programme made headlines.
“He turned on us and was an a**hole and like a little p***y b***h that complained and said I didn’t deserve to have the radio show,” Sandilands said.
He went on to describe Campbell as having “the shoulders of an 11-year-old boy” before declaring: “He’s just a piece of s***. He’s in the failure list.”
The pair’s feud dates back to at least 2011, when Campbell reportedly criticised Sandilands after the radio host referred to a female journalist as a “fat slag”. Sandilands has previously said their relationship deteriorated after Campbell took aim at him publicly.
Campbell and Brown have been approached for comment.
Sandilands was less hostile towards Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, although he dismissed their style as resembling “university student humour”. Other broadcasters, including Fitzy, Wippa and Kate Ritchie, were described as boring by contributor Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola.
John Laws, Ray Hadley, Gold FM’s Jonesy and Amanda, Christian O’Connell and Nova’s Chrissie Swan were among those placed in the programme’s “great” category.
