The law firm that represented Sean “Diddy” Combs against the most serious charges in his case is now representing a Cornell fraternity member accused in a lawsuit brought by a woman identified as Jane Doe.
The Agnifilo firm, associated with Marc and Karen Agnifilo, has joined the case, according to sources with direct knowledge of the matter.
The Cornell fraternity lawsuit is being handled by partner Teny Geragos, who has represented several high-profile defendants, including Combs and Harvey Weinstein. A New York rape charge against Weinstein was dismissed.
The firm is also representing Luigi Mangione. In that case, Mangione pleaded guilty to stalking UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson, and his lawyers are seeking to have a New York state murder charge dismissed on double-jeopardy grounds.
In the Cornell case, the legal team is expected to focus on Jane Doe’s initial comments that the sexual encounter was consensual and did not amount to a crime.
