Manchester United injury news has brought a setback for Benjamin Sesko and Patrick Dorgu ahead of the club’s return to action, with manager Michael Carrick indicating that both players will miss the upcoming fixture against Tottenham.
Sesko appears to be the furthest from a comeback. Carrick said: “Ben [Sesko] is further away with the injury he has, so he won’t be ready.”
Dorgu is also facing an extended absence after being forced off. “Patrick [Dorgu] came off and looks like he’ll be out for a number of weeks,” Carrick said.
Manchester United injury update ahead of Tottenham
There was some encouragement over Carlos Baleba, although the midfielder does not appear ready to return immediately. Carrick said Baleba “is improving” and “has trained a lot”, but he has yet to make his debut for United since joining from Brighton in the summer.
Carrick was more positive when discussing Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo. However, he stopped short of confirming that the trio would be available for the meeting with Tottenham.
The updates come as United prepare to resume their campaign after the international break. Carrick’s side have recorded two league wins so far and sit 12th in the table, while they have also been eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
United will face a struggling Tottenham team, but the latest injury news leaves Carrick managing several fitness concerns as he looks to guide his side back to winning form.
