The Milwaukee Brewers are heading to the World Series for the first time since 1982 after completing a 4-0 National League Championship Series sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Milwaukee sealed the pennant with a 6-4 victory at Dodger Stadium on Thursday night, ending the Dodgers’ bid for a third successive World Series title.
The Brewers had built a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series before returning to Los Angeles for the decisive fourth game. Their victory secured the National League championship and sparked celebrations among supporters in Milwaukee.
The result also marked a remarkable turnaround against the Dodgers, who had eliminated Milwaukee from the 2025 post-season. The Brewers became the first team in Major League Baseball history to sweep the same opponent in the following year’s Championship Series after themselves being swept the previous season.
Milwaukee will host the opening game of the World Series on October 23, with the American League champions still to be decided.
