Prosecutors have shown jurors a jailhouse interrogation video featuring Kewon White, the man accused of killing Dallas rapper MO3.
The recording was made after White was arrested in December 2020, following the shooting of Melvin Noble, known professionally as MO3, on an interstate in Dallas.
White is accused of being the gunman in the November 11, 2020, attack, in which Noble was shot while attempting to flee on Interstate 35. A bystander was also wounded but survived.
The prosecution alleges the killing formed part of a murder-for-hire plot involving rival rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway. Devin Brown is also charged in connection with Noble’s death.
White is the first of the three defendants to stand trial. All three men have pleaded not guilty, according to court reports.
White was arrested on December 9, 2020, and was also taken into federal custody on a charge of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He was later sentenced in that separate case, while the murder proceedings remained pending.
