Montana Brown has criticised “evil tech companies” for creating children’s television shows and games that she says are designed to be addictive.
The former Love Island contestant said she was concerned about the influence of screen-based entertainment on young children and questioned the motives of companies producing content aimed at them.
Brown said she allowed children to watch screens only on rare occasions, suggesting that parents should be cautious about how much time youngsters spend watching television or playing games.
Her comments focused on the way children’s programming and games are made to hold their attention, with Brown objecting to what she portrayed as companies deliberately encouraging prolonged use.
The remarks add to a wider debate among parents about children’s screen time and the responsibility of technology and entertainment companies whose products are marketed to younger audiences.
