Motorcyclist killed in overnight crash on Innovation Way in Orange County
A 45-year-old man from Haines City was killed when two motorcycles crashed on Innovation Way in Orange County early Sunday, 30 August 2026, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at about 1.41am south of State Road 434. Investigators said the man was riding a 2015 Yamaha FZ-09 northbound alongside another motorcyclist on a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14.
According to the preliminary investigation, both motorcycles were travelling above the posted speed limit when the riders failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycles left the roadway and struck a kerb, throwing both riders from their bikes.
The Yamaha rider was thrown into a fence and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his name.
The Kawasaki rider was taken to an AdventHealth hospital with injuries considered not life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation. No further details have been released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
