Patrick Clancy and his pregnant wife, Rachel Danis, have been seen riding Chicago’s elevated “L” train as they visited the city ahead of the annual marathon.
The couple boarded the train on Saturday, 10 October, with photographs showing Danis’s baby bump. Clancy was carrying a bag marked “Chicago Marathon”, suggesting they may have been in Chicago for Sunday’s race.
It was not clear whether Clancy, Danis or both intended to take part in the event. The pair appeared to be spending the weekend in the city as they prepare for the arrival of their child.
Clancy and Danis confirmed their pregnancy during an emotional interview on 60 Minutes last month. They married in April and used the programme to speak publicly about their relationship, the scrutiny they have faced and their plans to build a family.
The pregnancy marks a new chapter for Clancy, who lost his three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, in January 2023.
His former wife, Lindsay Clancy, was charged in connection with the children’s deaths. Her murder trial ended in a mistrial in September after jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict.
Clancy has also spoken about wanting his future children to know about their late siblings, saying that moving forward would not mean leaving their memories behind.
