A 53-year-old woman has suffered serious injuries after being struck by part of a load that became dislodged from a trailer in Kelmscott, south-east Perth.
The incident happened at about 2.35pm on Wednesday, 2 September, as a white Toyota Hilux tray-top utility travelled north-east along Third Avenue.
Western Australia Police said the vehicle was towing a trailer when the load fell and hit the pedestrian near the junction with Kidbroke Place. She was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
The 25-year-old male driver is assisting officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section, who are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have appealed for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
