A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a car was allegedly set alight and a man carrying a firearm was reported in Sydney’s Inner West.
Police were called to a car park in Dulwich Hill at about 10.20am on Friday after being told that a man carrying a gun had set fire to an allegedly stolen vehicle.
The man reportedly left the scene on foot and was last seen on Union Street. Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
Police then locked down the area and began searching across the Inner West. The investigation continued until officers arrested the 32-year-old on Burwood Road in Burwood at about 11.30pm on Sunday.
Police allege the man attempted to evade them during the arrest. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance for a minor injury sustained during the arrest before being taken to Newtown Police Station.
No charges have been laid.
