The San Francisco Police Department has increased the reward to $250,000 for information leading to charges against those responsible for the 2016 murder of Keron Lamotte in the city’s Oceanview neighbourhood.
Lamotte, who was 22, was shot at about 7.06pm on October 7, 2016, while watching an artist paint a mural at the junction of Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was also wounded in the shooting and taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. No arrest has been made in connection with the killing.
Reward increased in Keron Lamotte murder investigation
The department’s latest appeal comes on the tenth anniversary of Lamotte’s death. Police said the reward would be paid for information that leads to the identification of the suspect or suspects and the filing of criminal charges.
Lamotte’s mother previously told local media that the investigation had gone cold and appealed for anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward.
