US Marshals are searching for Lavell Nance, who is wanted in connection with allegations of repeated physical abuse of children at a home in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Nance, also known as “Lil One”, is accused of abusing children in a case that came to light after a child was found unresponsive at the property in 2022 and later died in hospital. The child’s death is not itself the subject of the charges against Nance, authorities said.
A subsequent police investigation at the home allegedly uncovered large quantities of MDMA and evidence of violence against other children living there.
Lavell Nance wanted by US Marshals
Nance and a woman were charged with child abuse following the investigation. Prosecutors allege that his conduct went far beyond acceptable discipline and involved repeated, violent acts that risked causing serious harm.
He failed to attend a preliminary hearing in Manitowoc County Circuit Court on June 11, 2026, prompting a judge to authorise a warrant for his arrest. His hearing had reportedly been rescheduled 15 times, with several delays linked to difficulties finding a public defender.
Nance was arrested in August 2025 and held at Manitowoc County Jail before being released on a 10,000-dollar signature bond in February 2026, according to court reporting. He is now believed to be in south-eastern Wisconsin.
The 41-year-old has a criminal record that includes convictions for armed robbery, battery by a prisoner and drug offences.
Authorities have warned that their main concerns are the safety of the public and any children who may still be in Nance’s presence.
Nance is described as about 5ft 7in tall and weighing approximately 150lb. He has a noticeable scar, around four inches long, across his neck, as well as a tattoo on his right arm depicting a scroll with children’s names.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the US Marshals tip line on 414-297-3707. Information can be provided anonymously.
