Saudi Arabia is emerging as the most likely destination for Richarlison after Tottenham left the Brazil forward out of their 25-man Premier League squad, according to reports in Sunday’s newspapers.
The Evening Standard says the Saudi Pro League now represents the clearest option for the 29-year-old, whose future at Spurs remains unresolved following the closure of the English transfer window.
Tottenham submitted their squad for the 2026/27 Premier League season on Thursday, 3 September. Richarlison was not included on the list, although he remains contracted to the club.
The omission leaves the forward unable to play in the Premier League unless Tottenham make a further change to their registered squad. It also increases the prospect of a move abroad while other leagues continue to conduct business.
Saudi Arabia’s summer registration window is due to remain open until Sunday, 6 September, giving clubs in the Saudi Pro League a final opportunity to negotiate a deal. Turkey’s transfer window, another possible destination mentioned in coverage of Richarlison’s situation, closed on Friday, 4 September.
Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 and was the club’s leading scorer last season, but his position has come under renewed scrutiny after he was excluded from the Premier League squad.
