A 13-year-old boy has been arrested as police investigate eight alleged sexual touching incidents involving women on walking trails in Narrabeen, on Sydney’s northern beaches.
The incidents are said to have taken place between October 1 and 12. In each case, a person allegedly approached a woman, sexually touched her and then rode away on an e-bike.
Two incidents occurred on a popular local track in Narrabeen on October 7 and 8. Police said the person also made inappropriate sexual comments during one of the alleged attacks.
The boy was assisting police with their inquiries late on Saturday after detectives appealed for information. Police had earlier released images of a person they believed might be able to help with the investigation.
Uniformed and plain-clothes officers from the Northern Beaches Area Command have been patrolling the area.
“We take these matters very, very seriously,” Superintendent John Duncan told reporters on Saturday afternoon.
He urged anyone with video or photographs of people acting suspiciously in the area to provide them to police.
