Tottenham have reportedly rejected an approach from Shabab Al Ahli for Richarlison, leaving the Brazilian forward’s future at the north London club unresolved.
The 29-year-old is understood to have fallen out of favour under Roberto De Zerbi after making clear during the summer transfer window that he wanted to leave. He was subsequently omitted from Tottenham’s Premier League squad.
Richarlison’s Tottenham future remains uncertain
Richarlison has struggled to maintain a regular role since joining Spurs from Everton in 2022. Injuries and competition for places have restricted his involvement, despite occasional glimpses of his ability.
Shabab Al Ahli had emerged as a possible destination as the forward considers a move to revive his career. However, Tottenham’s reported decision to turn down the approach could make it more difficult for him to secure a departure.
Attempts to find an alternative route away from the club have also failed to produce an agreement. A possible return to Everton and discussions with Brazilian side Vasco da Gama did not lead to a deal.
A move to the United Arab Emirates could still appeal to Richarlison, with Shabab Al Ahli managed by Andre Jardine. Jardine previously worked with the forward during Brazil’s Olympic campaign.
Any transfer would depend on further negotiations, as well as the terms of Richarlison’s contract with Tottenham. De Zerbi has reportedly indicated that the striker will not feature for Spurs even if he remains at the club.
The UAE transfer window is understood to remain open until September 28, leaving time for the situation to change. For now, Richarlison remains at Tottenham without a clear place in the first-team plans.
