A 200-year-old cottonwood tree has been cut down to make way for an expansion of the US-Mexico double border wall.
Activists had staged protests for months in an effort to stop the tree from being felled.
Some protesters also camped at the cottonwood, but it was ultimately removed to clear the way for the border wall project.
