Laura Loomer has told Donald Trump that a list of about ten officials across the Department of Justice, Department of State and National Security Council are undermining his agenda.
The Republican activist, who travelled with the president to a campaign rally in Alabama, declined to identify those named. She said the document formed part of her continuing efforts to remove what she considers disloyal or unsuitable figures from the administration.
“I always come with a list,” Loomer said, adding that she had raised concerns with Mr Trump about “choices that are concerning and alarming to me”.
Her influence has unsettled officials in Washington, where staff believe her interventions can be followed by dismissals. Mr Trump fired six National Security Council officials after meeting Loomer in April 2025, according to the account.
During the Alabama trip, Mr Trump praised Loomer as “a great Republican strategist, a great person, a killer”, while acknowledging the consequences of provoking her.
“When she’s angry at you. It’s a very terrible situation,” he said. He later added: “Despite the many people who complain about Laura Loomer, for the most part she is always right.”
Loomer travelled alongside members of Mr Trump’s inner circle, including Natalie Harp, described as the president’s most trusted assistant, and Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
She said Mr Pulte was a friend and praised him for having no need to protect what she called “bad actors” in the administration. “The people who they always attack are the people they fear because those are the people that are going to be honest with the president,” she said.
Loomer has nonetheless faced criticism from Republicans and has previously been blamed by Trump aides for influencing his comments about Haitian migrants during the presidential campaign. Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina described her at the time as a “crazy conspiracy theorist who regularly utters disgusting garbage intended to divide Republicans”.
Mr Trump has said he disagrees with some of Loomer’s controversial views, but described her as a supporter and a “free spirit”.
Although she has access to the president during official travel, Loomer has not been granted White House press credentials. She said a request to occupy the “New Media” seat for social media influencers had not been accepted, and blamed “petty low level staff” with a “power complex”.
She said she did not hold White House chief of staff Susie Wiles responsible, maintaining that the two had a good relationship. “She helped me get on Air Force One, she controls the manifest for the plane,” Loomer said.
A White House official said plans were under way to give Loomer and members of her organisation access to the press briefing room, describing her as “a valued ally and a great asset to the president”.
Loomer said she was content to remain outside the administration because it allowed her to speak freely. However, she added that she would serve in the White House if Mr Trump asked her, including as press secretary.
For now, her most direct access comes aboard Air Force One and Marine One, where she said she occupies a seat opposite the president. She said Mr Trump had given her a packet of pink and red Starbursts during the Alabama journey, adding: “I don’t think I’ll ever eat them. I think I’ll save those forever.”
