A two-year-old child has died after being found unresponsive at a home in Frankfort, Illinois, in what police are investigating as a domestic-related homicide.
Officers were called to the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court at about 4.04pm on Tuesday, 1 September, after receiving a report of an unresponsive child. Brook Stone Court, a normally quiet cul-de-sac, remained closed as detectives examined the house. Officers and investigators were seen entering and leaving the property throughout Wednesday morning, with police tape surrounding the scene. Police have not said whether anyone has been arrested or disclosed the circumstances leading up to the deaths. The identities of those involved have also not been released.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy,” the Frankfort Police Department said. It urged residents to support one another with “compassion, understanding, and strength” as the investigation continues.
