An empty ski boat has washed ashore on Magnetic Island in Queensland, prompting a search by land and air for anyone who may have been on board.
The 16-foot green and white fibreglass vessel was found at about 5.30pm on Saturday at Horseshoe Bay. It was fitted with an outboard motor.
Queensland Police sent a helicopter to search the area at about 7pm, but no one was found. The aerial search was not resumed on Sunday.
Officers were examining the boat for clues and have appealed for information about its owner and their whereabouts.
Anyone who recognises the vessel or has information that could assist police has been urged to contact them.
