Fans have gathered at the MCG for the 2026 AFL Grand Final, with Brisbane Lions supporters facing Fremantle Dockers fans before the match in wet conditions.
Supporters from both clubs arrived early in Melbourne, settling into the stadium as rain left the ground soggy ahead of the Brisbane Lions v Fremantle Dockers clash.
Brisbane fan Andrew Svenson was among those making his way to the ground, while other Lions supporters arrived carrying hopes of seeing their team lift the trophy.
Fremantle followers also travelled to the MCG in large numbers, with fans gathering outside and taking part in live television crosses before the start of the game.

The build-up began with an AFL Grand Final breakfast attended by entertainers including Rove McManus and Jess Wilson. Nat and Jimmy also performed for guests at the event.
Some supporters were still hoping to secure tickets, while others had already taken their seats inside the MCG as the two sets of fans prepared for the opening bounce.
The match-day scenes brought together Brisbane Lions and Fremantle Dockers supporters under grey skies, with the wet surface adding to the atmosphere before the 2026 grand final.
