A 21-year-old man from Horicon was killed after his vehicle left the road and crashed into a utility pole in Washington County, Wisconsin, early on Saturday, 12 September.
Emergency crews were called to the area near Fork Road and County Highway S in the Town of Addison at about 4.20am, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies determined that speed was a factor in the crash. An initial investigation found that the vehicle had been travelling east on County Highway S before leaving the road and moving on to the south shoulder.
The vehicle then returned to the carriageway, crossed to the north shoulder and became airborne before striking the utility pole. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was found dead inside the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the county medical examiner’s office.
Hartford police, St Lawrence Fire Department, the Washington County Highway Department and WE Energies also attended the scene.
