Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly split from her longtime fiancée.
The controversial New York congresswoman broke up with Riley Roberts and called off their engagement, TMZ reports.
The two were last pictured together at the 2021 Met Gala, and Ocasio-Cortez announced their engagement the following year.
But about 18 months ago, the engagement was suddenly called off, according to Leigh Ann Caldwell, the chief Washington correspondent for Puck News.
It is unclear what may have led up to the split, but insiders have said Ocasio-Cortez stopped wearing her engagement ring in the months before they decided not to get married.
The shocking update comes just days after the 36-year-old congresswoman filmed herself injecting fertility drugs, in preparation for freezing her eggs.
‘This is just not something that men deal with,’ the Democrat bemoaned in the video posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday. ‘Men run for office, or frankly, they interview for jobs and people don’t think in the back of their mind, “OK this guy’s running for office, how old is he? Oh, well is he gonna wanna start a family?”
‘This is a choice I am making to feel more in control of my life,’ the Representative, who has been in DC since being sworn into Congress at the age of 29, remarked.
