Louise Thompson has said she is ‘grieving’ the fact she’ll never carry another child as she opened up on ‘wonderfully, painfully different’ £50,000 surrogacy journey. The TV personality and personal trainer partner Ryan Libbey, both 35, revealed their plans to expand their family earlier this year, after Louise almost died while giving birth to her son Leo in 2021 following an emergency caesarean. After Leo’s birth, she went on to suffer with PTSD and post-natal anxiety due to her near-death experience and has since been diagnosed with Lupus, Asherman’s syndrome, suffered a second haemorrhage, and has also had a stoma bag fitted. The…

During her brief appearance she was paired with Nikita Kuzmin,…
The SNP will never slash Scotland’s runaway £7billion benefits bill, the finance secretary said yesterday. Jenny Gilruth was branded ‘out of touch’ after signalling she would rather slash all other areas of public spending before tackling the country’s bloated welfare bill. Ms Gilruth said that benefits is ‘the last place’ she would look to make cuts. The Scottish Conservatives said the ‘ludicrous’ comments would alarm Scots worried about even higher taxes being used to balance the books. Ms Gilruth, a former modern studies teacher, put in charge of a £68billion budget by John Swinney last week, was also accused of ‘keeping Scots in the dark’ about…
Dozens of firefighters are tackling an enormous fire in east London which has left a tube service severely delayed. Video footage posted to social media shows dark smoke billowing into the air over an aggressive fire near Hackney Downs Station on Sunday evening. Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters have rushed from stations across to east London to fight the blaze, which erupted on Cottrill Gardens. A static caravan and two cars have been engulfed by the fire, the London Fire Brigade said, as well as part of a grass embankment. The Mildmay overground line has been part suspended between Stratford and Canonbury…
A schoolgirl has been left paralysed below the neck after catching the flu. Lexi Brown, 14, fell ill in December last year with a temperature and dizziness – but rang her mother a few days later screaming in pain. The GCSE student, from Clacton–on–Sea in Essex, was rushed to hospital after receiving CPR, where she was put in an induced coma. Doctors now suspect she suffered a spinal stroke which was triggered by a bout of flu. When she awoke, Lexi was unable to walk, talk or breathe unaided – and has since been in hospital using a ventilator. Her mother,…
A heartbroken mum has told of her horror after finding her ‘beautiful’ son dead in her kitchen after he overdosed on prescription drugs. Ruth Fowler, 54, never imagined that saying goodnight to her ‘funny and loving’ 22-year-old son William on July 2 last year would be the last time she told him, ‘I love you.’ William, a triplet, had been using cannabis and ketamine recreationally from the age of 16. Over time, his drug use escalated, and following diagnoses of mental health conditions, he began taking highly addictive prescription medications, including Valium, oxycodone, and Xanax, which he obtained from street…
Parents and retailers could face prosecution amid a surge in children injured in electric scooter crashes, police have warned. Police Scotland say buyers are responsible for being aware of the law and the implications when e-scooters are ridden illegally on roads or pavements. They say enforcement action can be taken against riders and ‘those who purchase’ e-scooters – including parents buying them for children. Penalties can include confiscation and fines. Causing injury will be dealt with in the same way as when a car or motorbike is involved. The crackdown comes amid concerns some retailers are failing to clearly warn buyers about…
