Bayern Munich are not planning a move for Manchester City attacker Rayan Cherki, despite reports linking the 23-year-old with a switch to Germany.
Christian Falk, a Bayern insider, said he had asked board member Max Eberl about the France international and was told the club had no intention of pursuing him.
Falk also reported that Cherki had never been included on Bayern’s transfer shortlist. The Bundesliga champions instead focused on other attacking targets during the summer and are not expected to revisit the situation in January.

Bayern’s current attacking options offer little indication that Cherki is a recruitment priority. Michael Olise remains central to the club’s plans and is under contract until June 2029, while Serge Gnabry agreed a new deal earlier this year that keeps him at Bayern until 2028.
Cherki’s form at Manchester City has nevertheless made him an appealing name in the transfer market. He has made an impressive start to the season under Enzo Maresca, establishing himself as an important part of City’s attacking set-up.
The France international has scored twice and provided two assists in his Premier League appearances, including a two-goal performance in the 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
That output suggests Cherki is becoming increasingly significant at City rather than struggling to find opportunities. He can operate centrally or in wide areas, offering creativity and unpredictability as he continues to develop.
Bayern could eventually require another winger if the make-up of their squad changes, particularly should Olise’s long-term position become uncertain. For now, however, the club’s stance appears clear: a Bayern Munich move for Rayan Cherki is not being pursued.
