Ben Affleck has said dating is not a priority following his separation from Jennifer Lopez, although he remains open to finding a relationship in the future.
The 54-year-old actor and filmmaker discussed his dating life while promoting his upcoming Netflix film Animals, telling Entertainment Tonight that his attention is focused largely on his work and his three children.
Affleck shares Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14, with his former wife Jennifer Garner.
“It’s not a big priority in my life,” he said when asked whether he was dating.
Ben Affleck responds to Shakira set-up story
Affleck also rejected a story about a possible introduction to Shakira. Ana Navarro, a co-host of The View, recently said she had considered setting them up after meeting Affleck’s longtime friend Matt Damon at one of Shakira’s concerts.
“I hear s*** like that, honestly, first from people like you,” Affleck told Entertainment Tonight. “I never heard that in my whole life. People gossip. Stuff gets made up.”
He added that he does not generally “get set up”.
Affleck’s comments come roughly two years after his separation from Lopez. He previously discussed his relationship history during a September appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, saying his children had teased him when he tried to offer them dating advice.
Although he said he is content with his life as it is, Affleck did not rule out a future romance. “I’m open to it, but I’m not trying to chase anything,” he said.
