Marcene Mitchell is the senior vice-president of climate change at WWF, bringing experience in climate finance, low-carbon investment and the development of new markets for sustainable technologies and infrastructure.
Before joining WWF, Ms Mitchell served as global head of climate strategy and business development at the International Finance Corporation, the private-sector arm of the World Bank.
Her work at the IFC and in previous roles focused on creating opportunities for businesses to invest in low-carbon technologies and infrastructure.
Ms Mitchell has also been involved in green bank initiatives in the United States, which use public-sector funding to attract private investment in climate finance.
She is vice-chairman of the board of the Montgomery County Green Bank in Maryland. The organisation supports renewable energy and energy-efficiency measures for small businesses and moderate- and low-income households.
