George and Amal Clooney are taking turns supporting Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber after the death of their son, Presley, earlier this week.
The couple are understood to be among a group of close friends staying with the family in Los Angeles so that Crawford and Gerber are not left alone. George Clooney and Amal are also helping with arrangements and whatever else the family needs, according to a source.
“George, Amal and a few of their other close friends have been taking shifts staying with the family so they aren’t alone,” the source said.
The source added that the Clooneys joined the family after learning of Presley’s death, and that George had always been close to both Presley and his sister, Kaia.
A separate source described the actor and lawyer as “absolutely beside themselves with grief”, saying George was “completely shattered by Presley’s death”.
“He’s known him his entire life, and he never imagined things would ever get to this point,” the source said.
George Clooney has been friends with Crawford and Gerber for decades. He and Gerber are also business partners in the Casamigos tequila brand.
The circumstances of Presley’s death have not been officially confirmed. Dispatch calls to the rehabilitation facility where he died reportedly referred to cardiac arrest and a suspected overdose.
Presley’s death came days after Kaia mentioned her brother in a new interview.
