The FBI and French authorities have seized websites accused of selling child sexual abuse material and stolen intimate images, in an international operation that led to the arrest of a suspected administrator in northern France.
The US Department of Justice said two domains linked to NudeLeaksTeens were taken over after investigators obtained a seizure warrant. French prosecutors separately said three connected websites had been shut down, including NLT and NLTVIDS. A 25-year-old man was arrested in France on suspicion of being the main administrator of the network. French media, citing the Paris public prosecutor’s office, reported that a second man, aged 21, was also detained. Both are brothers and are suspected of helping to run the platform. Websites sold stolen images in online collections
According to the US seizure warrant, the websites advertised explicit images and videos in albums and collections, often alongside personal information that could identify the victims.
Investigators said some of the people depicted were under 18 when the material was created. The content was allegedly obtained through hacked or stolen social media accounts, including those linked to Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
One collection was advertised as containing about 6,200 private files involving teenagers and adults, mainly from the United States. The US Justice Department said the collection also contained child sexual abuse material. French investigators said more than 17,000 women of different nationalities had been catalogued by the platform, sometimes under their real names and with details such as their age, location and occupation. Users were allegedly encouraged to provide further information about victims.
French authorities also seized digital assets worth more than €700,000, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Tether and Ethereum, according to reporting by RTL.
The US investigation began after law enforcement became aware of the websites in 2024. FBI agents later executed a warrant against VeriSign, the US domain registry responsible for the seized addresses, taking computers, servers and other material as part of the operation. The French investigation is examining suspected offences including the distribution of intimate images without consent, organised cybercrime, money laundering and the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The US Justice Department said victims whose intimate images were published on NudeLeaksTeens or elsewhere online should report the matter to the FBI. French authorities have also urged potential victims, including those living outside France, to come forward.
