A hospital worker who prosecutors said wanted child rape to be legalized has been jailed after investigators uncovered some of the most disturbing child sexual abuse material they had ever encountered.
Benjamin Naylor, 32, of Deer Park, Ohio, was sentenced Monday to between seven and nine-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing and distributing images and videos of children being abused.
The former Christ Hospital scheduler pleaded guilty last month to eight counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and one count of illegally using a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material.
Some of the material found on Naylor’s cellphone involved an infant believed to be just two or three months old, while other victims were thought to be between four and eight years old, prosecutors said.
Cincinnati Police Detective Mary Braun told Hamilton County Common Pleas Court that the contents of Naylor’s phone were among the worst her unit had encountered.
‘The images that Mr. Naylor had were some of the absolute worst I’ve ever seen, and the chats were alarming,’ Braun said, according to FOX19.
‘I’ve never seen chats like that.’

Assistant Prosecutor Elyse Deters said of Naylor: ‘He does not think child rape should be criminalized. In fact, he wants it legalized.’
Naylor was arrested in December 2025 after Predator Poachers, a Texas-based civilian group that monitors suspected online predators, confronted him outside the Christ Hospital Health and Aging Center in Cincinnati.
The group said it first encountered Naylor on Reddit while posing as a 13-year-old boy.
Naylor allegedly told the decoy that ‘age is just a number’ before eventually blocking the account after becoming suspicious, WCPO reported.
Members approached Naylor at his workplace on December 3 under the guise of delivering a Secret Santa present.
During the roughly 40-minute encounter, which was streamed online, Naylor admitted trading abusive material involving babies and toddlers, Predator Poachers founder Alex Rosen told the outlet.

Police were called to the hospital and an investigation was launched by the Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations Unit, a multi-agency task force that investigates internet crimes against children.
Detectives subsequently found images and videos on Naylor’s phone that he had shared in a conversation with a user called ‘Active Perv,’ according to court documents cited by the Enquirer.
Naylor worked as a scheduler and did not have direct contact with patients, Christ Hospital told WCPO. He was immediately fired after the hospital learned of his arrest.
His attorney, John O’Shea, asked Judge Wende Cross to impose probation, arguing that Naylor had autism, an intellectual disability, visual impairment and a traumatic brain injury.
O’Shea said Naylor was born with a congenital skull condition and underwent surgery when he was five months old. He had reportedly received assistance from the Hamilton County Department of Developmental Disabilities since he was three.
The attorney described Naylor as immature and susceptible to manipulation, telling the court that his client once lost $14,000 to someone online who pretended to be his girlfriend.
He argued that Naylor initially failed to understand the harm caused by viewing material he had not personally created.
Deters rejected that characterization, saying Naylor’s online conversations showed he understood his conduct was wrong and that his disabilities did not explain his sexual interest in children.
Naylor must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years and will remain under supervision for five years after leaving prison
Naylor apologized before he was sentenced.
‘I’m truly deeply sorry. I take full responsibility,’ he said, according to WLWT.
Cross told Naylor that the files were ‘documentary evidence of the sexual abuse of real children’ and that distributing them perpetuated a cycle in which victims were harmed repeatedly.
‘You caused real harm to children who you never met,’ the judge said.
Cross said Naylor’s diagnoses did not excuse conduct carried out over a sustained period.
After completing his prison sentence, Naylor will remain under supervision for five years and must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years.Â
He will also be required to undergo treatment.
