Jake Foy and Nicolas La Traverse have marked their first wedding anniversary by reflecting on their marriage, creative partnership and plans for the year ahead.
The couple married on September 27 in Montreal, Quebec, in front of 100 friends and family members. They now live in Los Angeles with their dog, Daisy.
Foy, 35, is set to lead Hallmark Channel’s upcoming Christmas film Who’s Coming for Christmas?, which will premiere on October 30 as part of the broadcaster’s Countdown to Christmas season. He will also appear in the Netflix holiday release Guarding Stars, alongside Leighton Meester, Jared Padalecki and Andie MacDowell.

The pair said their most memorable wedding moment was walking down the aisle hand in hand, describing the church ceremony as a symbol of cultural progress during “very trying times”.
They also recalled the reception, which took place during a river cruise on the Saint Lawrence in Montreal, with dinner and dancing attended by their guests.
Reflecting on their first year of marriage, Foy and La Traverse said they had spent much of the time discussing their shared ambitions and what would bring them fulfilment as individuals and as a couple.
“The best marriages are always learning — every single day,” they said.
Looking ahead, they said they were hoping for more travel, adventures, entertaining and film-making, while enjoying the early years of married life before “maybe” starting a family.
Foy said he was looking forward to Christmas more than Halloween, despite having a November 1 birthday and enjoying childhood celebrations around the spooky season. He described Christmas as impossible to beat for its “warmth and charm”.
The couple’s work together
La Traverse is a producer at Home Game Studios, where he works on scripted and unscripted projects. He recently produced the Tubi series This Is a Game Show? and is due to work on an unscripted dating series and a scripted horror-thriller series before the end of the year.
He is also working with Foy on the actor’s directorial debut, Their Last Semester, which has been developed as a passion project over several years. La Traverse said they were close to securing financing for a 2027 shoot.
The couple are also developing the half-hour bowling comedy Pinguin Lanes. La Traverse said working together had been “a blessing”, adding that clear communication and transparency were central to balancing their professional and personal lives.
Foy, who began in musical theatre and has writing and directing credits, said he hoped eventually to direct studio movie musicals. He has also previously appeared in Hallmark’s Ride, as well as Designated Survivor, Reign and Wilderness.
