A 32-year-old man has been charged with an alleged double murder after two men were found dead at a property in northern New South Wales within a fortnight.
Police discovered the body of a 79-year-old man inside a house on Summerland Way in Gurranang, north of Grafton, on September 13.
Officers returned to the property on Monday afternoon as part of their investigation and found another body inside a shed. The second man is believed to have been aged 59.
Detectives, supported by the homicide squad, launched an investigation under Strike Force Faneel. The accused man was arrested at a hospital in Grafton shortly after midday on Tuesday.
He was taken to Grafton police station and charged with two counts of murder and stealing a motor vehicle. Police bail was refused and he is due to appear in court on Wednesday.
