A semi-truck carrying live chickens overturned on northbound Interstate 5 in Clark County, Washington, on Wednesday morning, blocking ramps near the ilani casino complex and prompting a multi-agency response.
The crash happened at about 9.39am near milepost 16.8, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The ramps at Exit 16 were closed while crews dealt with the wreck and the animals that escaped from the vehicle.
Washington State Patrol officers, WSDOT maintenance workers and local animal control staff attended the scene. They collected the loose chickens, removed debris and helped drivers navigate the disruption.

The cause of the rollover was not immediately known. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
WSDOT crews were continuing to clear the site and work towards reopening the Exit 16 ramps. Drivers travelling north through Clark County were warned to expect delays during the afternoon and to approach the area carefully.
