Patrick Clancy’s new wife, Rachel Danis, has defended their relationship and rejected conspiracy theories surrounding the case involving his former wife, Lindsay Clancy.
Speaking in a preview for Patrick’s forthcoming interview on “60 Minutes”, Danis said she did not understand how the story had become distorted.
“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted,” she said.
Danis added that she hoped people recognised Patrick as “the most selfless father and supportive partner”. She said they had met while he was running in Central Park on “a really cold Saturday”, adding: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
Online conspiracy theories have alleged that Patrick framed Lindsay for the deaths of their children. Patrick testified in Lindsay’s defence during the trial.
In a separate preview released on Thursday, Patrick said he asks his late children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, for “help” and continues to speak to them “all the time”.
Patrick and Danis have previously been seen together during the proceedings, including shopping in the Hamptons and smiling in New York while the jury was deliberating.
