Perez Hilton’s mother Teresita Lavandeira has filed to obtain temporary custody of his three children in the wake of his shocking self-harm livestream.
Hilton, 48, was taken to the hospital in Miami last Tuesday after the police received emergency calls alerting them to a potential suicide attempt.
Footage from the stream, which the Daily Mail has chosen not to republish, appears to show him smeared in blood after seemingly having cut himself with a knife.
His team subsequently issued a statement assuring the public his ‘children remain safe and are being cared for by immediate family.’
Three days after the incident, on August 7, Lavandeira submitted a petition in a Miami family court to temporarily assume custody of Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight, according to legal documents obtained by People.
The Daily Mail has contacted Hilton’s representative for comment.
