Sarah Ferguson has denied reports that she is close to signing a multi-million-pound deal to write a tell-all memoir about the Royal Family.
A spokesman for the former Duchess of York, 66, said there were no plans for her to publish a book, despite claims that a chapter-by-chapter outline had already been prepared.
“Sarah Ferguson is not close to signing a multi-million dollar book deal as has been reported,” the spokesman said. “She has no plans to write any tell-all memoir.”
Reports had suggested that the proposed book would address several senior royal figures and controversial subjects, including Ferguson’s former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, King Charles, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Jeffrey Epstein.
She was also said to be considering setting out her version of events over her links to Epstein, amid claims that she wanted to repair her reputation and be accepted by the public again.
Emails released in the US showed that Ferguson accepted at least £115,000 from Epstein after he had been convicted of soliciting sex from girls as young as 14. She also took her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, to visit him shortly after his release from prison in 2009.
Messages from Ferguson described Epstein as her “supreme friend” and “the brother I have always wished for”. It was reported that he paid her debts.
Before the denial, reports claimed there had been interest from potential publishers and that Ferguson was seeking a deal to help with financial difficulties. One source was quoted as saying: “Sarah wants to set the record straight about everything and earn some money to resolve her financial issues.”
Another person close to Ferguson said she had been offered “a number of deals”, but that no direct talks had taken place with US publishing houses.

Ferguson has spent the past seven months abroad and has been seen in Switzerland and Austria while keeping a low profile over the Epstein controversy.
She is now understood to be returning to Britain and preparing to rent a six-bedroom house in a gated Home Counties community for £10,000 a month. Removal vans have reportedly been seen collecting her belongings from Andrew’s home in Sandringham.
Ferguson and Andrew were stripped of their royal titles by King Charles last October following scrutiny of Andrew’s friendship with Epstein. She was evicted from Royal Lodge with Andrew in February, after the pair had lived there for 18 years.
Andrew remains under police investigation over his links to Epstein. He was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and denies any wrongdoing.
