Sharon Stone has appeared to take a swipe at Sydney Sweeney’s lingerie line by referencing the actress’s controversial storyline in Euphoria.
Speaking to Variety, Stone recalled trying to persuade Sweeney’s character, Cassie, to stop working as a cam girl and join her on the series she was producing, L.A. Nights.
“In Euphoria, I tried to get Sydney Sweeney’s character to stop being a cam girl and to come and work for me on the series I was producing called L.A. Nights,” Stone said. “And she agreed to stop being a cam girl — which she didn’t do.”
It was not immediately clear whether Stone was joking, but she added: “As you can see from Sydney’s new lingerie line, it didn’t take.”
Sweeney launched her lingerie brand, Syrn, earlier this year. She has also faced criticism over a provocative advertising campaign for sports-focused prediction market Novig, where she joined as an equity partner.
Sweeney has since addressed the backlash by sharing further images from the campaign on Instagram Stories, including partially nude sports photographs featuring athletes such as Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey, Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Kelce.
