The AI Infra Summit has brought about 8,000 technology professionals to the Santa Clara Convention Center, where an executive from a South Bay semiconductor company has been discussing the infrastructure needed to support the next phase of artificial intelligence.
The three-day event, running from 15 to 17 September, is focused on the systems behind AI rather than consumer applications. Its programme covers computing, networking, data movement, storage, models and the data centres required to operate increasingly demanding workloads.
Organisers say the summit is attracting engineers, technical specialists, architects and senior executives from across the technology industry. The event features hundreds of speakers and more than 250 partner companies, with discussions centred on how AI systems can be scaled more efficiently.
Sessions are also examining physical AI, including the infrastructure required to connect software with robotics and other real-world systems. The gathering reflects the growing importance of semiconductors, high-speed connectivity, power and cooling to the development of advanced AI.
The summit is being held in Santa Clara, at the heart of California’s Silicon Valley, and is expected to provide a platform for companies to demonstrate new hardware, networking technology and data-centre solutions.
