Napoli are reportedly prepared to consider offers of €25 million to €30 million for Scott McTominay next summer, with Aston Villa and Manchester United among the Premier League clubs said to be interested in the Scotland midfielder.
McTominay’s future in Italy has become increasingly uncertain despite his success at Napoli. His contract runs until the end of next season, but there has been little progress towards an extension.
Scott McTominay transfer interest grows
The midfielder is understood to be open to a new challenge as he enters his late 20s, while Napoli may be unable to match the wages he would seek in a new deal.
That has left the Italian club facing the prospect of selling him at the peak of his value. By next summer, McTominay would have only one year remaining on his contract, limiting the fee Napoli could expect.
Transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri, writing for Sky Sports, said the player’s agent had already held preliminary discussions with several Premier League clubs.
“The player’s agent, according to our sources, maintains close relationships with several Premier League clubs and has already held preliminary discussions regarding McTominay’s future,” Tavolieri reported.
The claims suggest there could be several potential destinations for McTominay if he leaves Napoli, with his possible return to the Premier League likely to attract further interest in the months ahead.
