Two RAF pilots have been injured after ejecting from a Hawk T2 training jet before it crashed near homes on Anglesey in Wales.
Footage filmed locally shows the aircraft appearing to stall during an exercise on Wednesday, before both pilots eject. The jet then struck the ground and erupted into a fireball close to nearby houses.
North Wales Police said the pilots were being treated for injuries believed to be minor. There were no reports of wider injuries or damage, the force added.
The RAF confirmed the aircraft was an RAF T2 Hawk flying from RAF Valley, an airbase around 9km south-west of the crash site.
Both pilots are receiving medical treatment and their families are being supported, the RAF said.
Hawk operations have since been suspended as a precaution while the incident is investigated. The RAF said: “The RAF has decided to temporarily pause Hawk T1 and T2 operations, as a precautionary measure, whilst investigations are ongoing.”
