Tyrese Gibson is seeking an arrest warrant against his ex-wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, accusing her of breaching his custody rights by taking their daughter out of Georgia and failing to arrange visitation.
In court documents, the actor claims Samantha removed the child from the state in September 2025, during a custody dispute in Atlanta. He alleges the move was “premeditated” and violated a parenting plan agreed by the former couple the previous month.
Samantha has opposed the application for a warrant. She says she has primary custody of their daughter and claims Tyrese’s filing contains inaccurate information about their continuing dispute.
She also maintains that her move to Washington was known to him and was not carried out secretly.
Tyrese and Samantha married in 2017 and welcomed their daughter, Soraya, the following year. Their divorce was finalised in 2020, but disagreements over custody, child support and legal costs have continued.
A judge ordered Tyrese to pay 10,690 dollars a month in child support in 2022. He was later ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in outstanding support and legal fees, and was briefly taken into custody in 2024 over unpaid child support.
Most recently, Samantha’s lawyers sought to have him jailed over almost 492,000 dollars in unpaid legal fees connected with the divorce case.
