US Congressman Jay Obernolte has outlined the FRONTIER Act, legislation he introduced to strengthen oversight of artificial intelligence, amid warnings from industry leaders about the technology’s potential threat to humans.
Mr Obernolte, co-chair of the Congressional AI Caucus, discussed the proposed bipartisan measure and the need for greater scrutiny of artificial intelligence.
The conversation also addressed what AI industry leaders have described as existential risks associated with the technology, including concerns about the danger it could pose to people.
