New York will host the 25th Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk on Sunday, September 27, honouring the firefighters, police officers and civilians killed in the September 11 attacks.
The event will begin at 9.30am in Brooklyn, with participants following a course of about 3.5 miles through the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel before finishing in Lower Manhattan. In Manhattan, closures include sections of West Street, Liberty Street, Vesey Street, Murray Street, Warren Street, North End Avenue, South End Avenue and the Battery Park Underpass.
