Arizona State University fans gathered at watch parties across the Valley on Saturday morning to support the Sun Devils as they faced Kansas at Wembley Stadium in London.
The historic Union Jack Classic was shown live at venues including the ASU Media and Immersive eXperience Center in downtown Mesa, where supporters watched the game on a large outdoor screen alongside members of the local community.
A separate event at ASU’s Tempe campus offered free breakfast, football-themed giveaways and London-inspired souvenirs as fans gathered to bring a taste of game day to Arizona.
The match marked the first college football game to be played at Wembley Stadium. It was also the opening fixture in a planned series of Big 12 Conference games in London.
Sun Devil supporters in the Valley cheered their team through the morning, with Arizona State eventually beating Kansas 24-17.
The result capped a major international occasion for the university, while fans at home celebrated the victory together thousands of miles from the London stadium.
